It Takes a Thief -The theme and music for a most iconic series

…espionage, spies, women and exotic locales all built around a unique concept. ***And one that would be applied in the ‘2000s with White Collar- not too far from this one.

Season one theme-(5) It takes a thief Theme v1 — YouTube

[written and composed] by the great Dave Grusin. Dave is an icon himself in the music business having composed for some of the biggest Televison series and movies over several decades. But his hottest time was the mid ’60s through the ’70s and into the ‘80s. This guy has done it all from jazz pianist to composer to arranger and band leader.

A sample of work — The Graduate, Tootsie, Three Days of the Condor, and more from the film industry. On the TV side…Baretta, Maude, The Wild Wild West and St Elsewhere.

***Grusin was part founder of GRP Records and over his career won 10 — -think 10 Grammy Awards and one Academy Award. Wow!!! I say. That is an accomplishment. And also, in the digital recording field- a pioneer.
