Julie Lee is back on the fast track and not letting the pandemic keep her from completing her dream project : A Voice From the White Horse a short & feature length production based on her first book of the same title.

A Voice from the White Horse- A Child Escapes the Cambodian Genocide

Which is based on her memoirs and is an autobiography centering around the fall of Cambodia and the rise of and the horrors and atrocities carried out by the Khmer Rouge (late 70’s thru early 80's). Her separation from her family at age 4 and her internment within one of many “Death” camps established to control the populace. One that exploited the people and resulted in the loss of thousands of lives. Narrowly escaping death too many times to count from infections, harsh treatment and deplorable living conditions. But born with an incredible will to survive this is one story that everyone everywhere needs to read and be made aware of. One so this may never be allowed to happen again. The other is that thru her project(s) is Miss Lee’s goal of helping the orphans & children of Cambodia.

Teaser trailer for upcoming production-

Left- What was hip in those days and what we had to look forward to, was not so for Cambodia.

One thing to keep in mind that while we were all enjoying “kung fu fighting” on the big screen and the song on our radios- the Cambodians were in a fight for not only their very lives but a fight for the culture & history. Poi Pot’s main goal was to take Cambodia and set it back to Year Zero.. erase all traces of education and the history of the country.. as if he was the creator. People from all walks of life — educators, scientists & leaders -rounded up to either be killed or separated from their loved ones. If you were a doctor — well you valued , because who was going to keep the soldiers healthy. Abled bodied men, women and yes children became basically slaves to mend the uniform, to farm and gather food for the regime. Living in deplorable and totally unhealthy environments and working til they dropped. “Death” camps — the word and description quite literal. So the next time when you think you got tough just think on thousands of lives lost and the hardships of those who survived and many never seeing their loved ones, family members and friends ever again.

She is also fast to work on a 2nd book soon to be published:

Whatever it Takes, Young Love, & Young Gangsters.

The second in a series of 5 is action packed and loaded with teen angst and of course gangsters. Appealing to a broader audience and fans. Lovers of teen drama like The Outsiders and …. but the difference is the story that unfolds in her new writings are all true. From growing up in a new country, to learning a new language and customs all the while trying to learn who she really is.. you know all those teenage woes plus running with the “wrong” crowd.

Good ol life in the 80's… where “Everybody Wants to Rule the World”. Set amongst the burgeoning new wave music and dance clubs. So don’t miss out on what promises to a very revealing and rollercoaster ride.

Miss Lee, when not writing and promoting can be found in front of the camera as a background actress appearing in films like 2014’s Stretch (Patrick Wilson/Chris Pine) and TV series such as Mom.

More recently she can be seen in the now streaming (above) 1st season of Medical Police on Netflix. A spoof of action cinema/medical series from the same people that gave us the exceptionally funny Children’s Hospital. She has been tapped to repeat her role of a crazed Asian prisoner in the 2nd season with a very nefarious plot.

As we said on the go, Julie will be starring in a soon to be produced Action/Sci-Fi theatrical film as the character-Firecracker. A nickname given to Miss Lee back in her competing days as a martial artist. She is sassy and has a lethal kick, but a heart of gold.

A special announcement*** and currently in development a new comic book series. One set in one of the most famous comic book universes- The Ghostly Hand. Thrills and chills set amongst the myths, legends and folklore of the world.

One that will feature many female characters, pop culture references and a coming together of some of the most unconventional heroes all the while embracing these cultures from all over the world working together for the greater good against some of the most villainess villains.

Most characters likenesses are based around existing people in the entertainment business including Miss Lee. So, just keep your eyes peeled for the comic book debut. She’ll be the one with the attitude and the brains to boot…

One last thing I would to point out. People of all ages quickly and easily relate as well as gravitate to her. Children, moms, families and people of a mature age-the grandmas and grandpas. Julie’s smile and laughter is contagious. Making her easy to find at a red-carpet event or

taking a walk in the park or a day at the beach. It has been said she possesses a refreshing personality and, in this day, and age it is not only most welcome but more than commendable. Especially considering what she has endured. We wish Miss Julie lee all the success and blessings in everything she does and her unfolding story- her life- one of perseverance, determination & love. Love of life.
