Hey, remember all those Saturday afternoons spent ducking down and covering your eyes, trying to avoid all those scary moments at the bijou. You know- where the heroine is trapped and has fallen into the clutches of some “madman” who has taken up resident at the local wax museum. Brrr I can feel the chills running down my spine already…

As if we needed another sub-genre film category but what I could not have realized until I started thinking about how often a wax museum ends up as a backdrop or setting for a film. At times even figures prominently in the storyline or the plot.

The obvious Terror in the Wax Museum, Nightmare in Wax, House of Wax (plus sequels and reboots) and Revenge of the Crazy Mixed-up Zombies Who Became Figures in Wax. Oops, just wanted to see if you were paying attention. The last title-I just made that up. But you get the point.
