One-part urban legend with a dose of Sc-Fi and Horror mixed with animal lab tests and a burned-out cop played by Robert Forrester (Jackie Brown) and you have the makings for thrill ride film that takes place partly underground in a particular city that seems to be having problems with missing homeless people and people's pets.

Rumor- New York City employee’s- sewer maintenance are slighting alligators in the sewer system. (Not true as far as I know).

Above- a trade ad for Alligator. The film was a sleeper hit upon its initial release in 1980.

I am sure most of you have heard the one about people in New York-the city getting pet alligators **from Florida a few other southerly locations** and after they start getting bigger or just don’t want to take care of them flushing down the toilet or something like that. The alligators end up in the sewers and now all of sudden…
